Xinjiang officials refute allegations

The authorities of Northwest China Xinjiang have refuted rumors and termed as lies conjured up by Adrian Zenz, a scholar from Germany on population and family planning issues in the province.

A spokesperson for the information department of Xinjiang, Ilijan Anagyit, addressing press conference on August 29, clarified that in a woman named Zamira Dawut had given birth to her third child at the Maternal and Child Care Centre in Urumqi in 2013 after having voluntarily signed the requisite documents to have cesarean section and tubal ligation. 

Meanwhile Tursunay Abdurahim, an officer of Xinjiang Static Branch, explained that between 2010 and 2018, contrary of the false claims, the permanent population of Xinjiang has increased by 13.99 percent to about 24.87 million with ethnic minority population up by 24.14 percent to 15.86 million.

In the same way the population of Uyghur ethnic group rose by 25.04 percent to nearly 12.72 million.

Corona field facility at Karachi Expo Centre may admit patients now

By Mukhtar Alam (Pakistan News & Features Services) The 1,200-bed field isolation centre at the Karachi Expo Centre, on April 6, will open its doors for new COVID-19 infected patients of Karachi and other parts of Sindh who will be referred to it by designated tertiary care hospitals, as the diseases infected another 51 people in six districts of Sindh on April 5.  A source in the provincial health department informed PNFS that authorities have decided not to overburden the designated tertiary care health facilities in terms of corona cases further.  The hospitals have now been asked to admit only new severely ill COVID-19 patients or those seeking intensive cares, while the rest will present at the newly established Expo Centre isolation facility, where the Sindh health department has deployed its doctors, paramedics and other human resources, the source added.
