Educational institutions allowed reopening in phases from September 15

The Sindh Minister for Education, Saeed Ghani, has declared that educational institutions in the province will reopen from September 15 to 30 in phases, while observing the relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

In accordance with the federal government’s decision, the institutions will be allowed to start conducting teaching for classes IX and above, including the higher seats of learning, from September 15 while classes VI to VIII will resume from September 22 and pre-primary and primary classes will be getting underway from September 30. 

Meanwhile, the All Private Schools Management Association Sindh (APSMAS), has welcomed the decision of the government and assured strict compliance of the SOPs in conducting classes and all other activities at the campus. 

The APSMAS Chairman, Syed Tariq Shah, in his video, released soon after the government decision earlier in the day, agreed to implement all the SOPs in letter and spirit. 

It may be recalled that the majority of the schools throughout the country have been closed since February when coronavirus (COVID-19) was confirmed to have reached Pakistan while the universities and all other educational institutions have been kept shut on government orders since the middle of March.

Constitution, Justice and Public Trust Essential for National Unity: Speakers

Bazm-e-Mukalma Pakistan organized the 39th Professor Karrar Hussain Memorial Lecture with a question-and-answer session at Rabat Hall, Bahadurabad, on “Lack of National Unity: Causes and Remedies.” Speakers and senior analysts Syed Muzafar Ejaz and Mazhar Abbas said national unity could not be achieved through slogans alone, but required justice, equality, constitutional supremacy, democratic continuity and public trust. China's port city Tianjin houses beautiful mosque

By Masood Sattar Khan (Pakistan News & Features Services) Tianjin, one the China’s busiest port cities and close to Beijing, has a beautiful masque sprawling on 1970 meters with all modern facilities for worshippers.  The famous Tianjin East Mosque is located in downtown at Ermalu Road in Nankai district. Tianjin is estimated to have around a Muslim population of 180,000.  The mosque was built anew in 2008 when it was relocated to shift for more spacious space to facilitate the local Muslims.  The new mosque is very beautiful with modern facilities thus the atmosphere becomes more comfortable for the worshippers. The walls of the main prayer hall are decorated with verses from Holy Quran.
