AKU-EB recognises SSC and HSSC high achievers

By Abdul Qadir Qureshi (Pakistan News & Features Services)  The Aga Khan University Examination Board celebrated 172 high achievers from across Pakistan for their outstanding performance in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) examinations in Karachi on November 16.  As many as 216 awards were given out to students for high scores in individual subjects, top positions overall and in subject groups for SSC and HSSC both.  Munnawar Hamid, Board of Trustees, AKU, praised the students for their hard work and told them that they were now prepared for the challenges to come.  "As you enter a new chapter in your life, the critical thinking and problem solving skills you have learned have not only prepared you for your academic journey, but also helped you to understand how to navigate the challenges in the future," he said.  The AKU-EB conducted its annual SSC and HSSC examinations in 30 exam ...

AKU-EB’s students triumph in Pakistan’s educational landscape

By Abdul Qadir Qureshi (Pakistan News & Features Services) Despite being a relatively young institution, the Aga Khan University Examination Board (AKU-EB) has repeatedly proved that its students are capable of attaining success by virtue of the quality education that they receive during their secondary school education.  While their annual results and internal student accomplishments have been a source of pride for them, this year’s May 2017 results for both their Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) examinations were also accompanied by a sense of both vindication and triumph due to the positive validation that AKU-EB has attained from external sources.  The overall pass rate for Year I and Year II SSC students came out at 85.7 per cent and 90.6 percent, respectively. Furthermore, 69.4 percent of Year I students and 81.2 percent of Year II students scored at or above 60 percent across all of their examinations....

AKU-EB recognizes High Achievers of 2016

A large number of parents, school principals and teachers were present at the ceremony to appreciate and encourage the high achievers.  "We are proud of our AKU-EB graduates, many of whom have successfully obtained admissions to renowned national and international universities. AKU-EB hosts Principals Conference

By Abdul Qadir Qureshi (Pakistan News & Features Services) The Aga Khan University Examination Board (AKU-EB), in collaboration with the Oxford University Press (OUP), hosted the second Principals’ Conference in Karachi. With an aim to provide structured learning opportunities to educational leadership and to gain insights into school improvement from an indigenous as well as a global perspective; educationists across Pakistan participated in this conference to discuss challenges and to find ways to improve school leadership and thereby raise the standard of teaching and learning.  The educationists deliberated on prevalent educational issues in Pakistan and discussed how to build linkages with their peers in order to learn from best practices and thereby boost results.
