İbni Sina Institute, Saylani Welfare Sign Strategic MoU to Promote Global Islamic Economy and Halal Cooperation

Karachi: A major step toward strengthening international cooperation in Islamic economics and sustainable development was taken during the 4th National Islamic Economic Forum (NIEF-2026) in Karachi, where the İbni Sina Institute – Center of Excellence in Islamic Finance and Saylani Welfare International Trust signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The agreement establishes a long-term framework for collaboration in Islamic finance, Halal industries, education, humanitarian development, and international business diplomacy.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Kemal Aydın, President of the İbni Sina Institute, headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and Kassel, Germany, and Muhammad Madni Raza, Chief Executive Officer of Saylani Welfare International Trust. Muhammad Ghazzal, Chief Operating Officer of Saylani Welfare International Trust, also attended the signing ceremony.

The partnership reflects the shared vision of both organizations to promote ethical and Shariah-compliant economic systems through research, innovation, international cooperation, and sustainable development initiatives across Europe, Asia, and the wider Muslim world.

Under the agreement, the two institutions will jointly work on a range of strategic initiatives, including the establishment of the European Halal Forum (EHAF), development of the Center of Excellence in Islamic Finance, and the promotion of Islamic finance, Waqf, Zakat, Islamic social finance, ethical investment, Halal healthcare, Halal tourism, Halal food, academic research, humanitarian projects, youth leadership, women's empowerment, and international networking with organizations across the D-8, OIC, ASEAN, and Europe.

The collaboration also includes plans to jointly organize the International Islamic Economic Forum (IIEF), scheduled to take place from November 25 to 28, 2028, in Istanbul, Türkiye. The forum will feature leadership academies, investment platforms, and global discussions focused on advancing the Islamic economy.

Representatives of the Indus Institute for AI & Digital Policy (IIADP), including Hamza Ali Chaudhry, Executive Director, and Dr. Syed Raza Abbas Zaidi, attended the ceremony and expressed support for international partnerships aimed at promoting ethical governance, innovation, Islamic economic cooperation, and sustainable development.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Kemal Aydın highlighted the importance of stronger partnerships between research institutions and humanitarian organizations, stating that such collaborations are essential for building inclusive, resilient, and values-driven economic ecosystems that benefit Muslim societies worldwide.

The newly signed MoU is expected to create opportunities for joint research, institutional capacity building, knowledge exchange, and international engagement, further advancing the global Islamic economy through ethical and sustainable development.
