This is one of the reasons behind polio endemicity and is leading to outbreaks of deadly preventable childhood diseases such as measles. Other diseases covered by routine immunization are hepatitis B, pneumococcal infections, diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis. A pilot project in District Tando Muhammad Khan (TMK) implemented by Aga Khan University and supported by Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunizations assessed the barriers and strengthened government Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) services through game changers.  It helped in finding out what was wrong with routine immunization and how it could be improved. According to a report released by SSUET Sports Department, the university won a couple of cricket tournaments and lost in the quarterfinals of the HEC Inter-Varsities Cricket Championship held in Peshawar. They won the IBA Cricket League Tournament for the third time in row and won the UNICEF World Water Day Football Tournament. The SSUET’s boys showed good potential by grabbing one silver and three bronze medals in the Higher Education Commission Inter-Varsities Boxing Championship held in Islamabad. The symptoms of asthma attack include breathlessness, coughing, wheezing and a feeling of tightness in the chest.  It can be controlled by knowing the warning signs of an attack, staying away from things that trigger an attack, and following the advice of your health care provider.  The aim of the event is to raise awareness for those who are affected by asthma as well as for the family or friends who are primary caregivers.

According to the details made available by the SSUET Managir, Tariq Khan, Sufyan Ahmed and Usama Khan won bronze medals in the 66 kg and the open weight categories respectively. The SSUET, having Nasir Khan as coach, participated in 50, 55, 60, 66, 90 kg weight and open categories.

This follows a directive from the SSUET Chancellor, Jawaid Anwar, to the university’s sports department asserting that side by side men’s teams, women teams in various sports should also be formed.
